Young People

Our Training

We offer training days to professionals who are looking to learn more about trans issues. These can be a generic introduction to trans experiences and issues, as well as gearing towards professionals who work with young trans people more specifically. We have also visited workplace settings and carried out professional development training for a team where a member of staff has recently come out as trans.

Our general introduction workshop looks at:

  • Key terms and language
  • What the law says
  • Negotiating medical models of trans
  • How we can make cultural and social interventions
  • Guidance around transitioning in the workplace

For those who work with young people:

  • Tools for raising discussions around gendered identities
  • Offer some experiences of young trans people
  • Bullying at school and preventative ideas and techniques
  • To find out about the resources available around trans issues
  • What support is available for young trans people who want it
