Gendered Intelligence is a company that delivers:
- Arts programmes and creative workshops to trans youth from across the UK.
- Facilitated workshops to all young people within schools, colleges and other settings to generate discussion and debate around gender and the ways in which it presents challenges in our everyday lives.
- Professional development and trans awareness training. These sessions
can be a generic introduction to trans experiences and issues, as well as
gearing towards those who work with young trans people more specifically.
Young Trans People:
Know Your Rights to Fair Treatment
22nd November - 1.30pm - 5.00pm
Working with Gendered Intelligence, the Equality and Human Rights Commission is creating a new set of information aimed specifically at young people (aged 16-25) and their advisers.
As a young trans person we want to hear from you!
Tell us your story . . .
You're young; you've just left school and maybe you've started out at college, a training course or fresh into a new job. Things should be really exciting for you - new friends, new skills, new chapter in your life... but something doesn't seem quite right. Perhaps you're faced with a tricky situation and don't know where to turn?
As a trans person you have rights to be treated fairly.
This half-day session will provide you with advice and information from the EHRC, and will be a safe space to talk about what you can do if you aren't treated fairly. We are asking you to tell us what you think.
Gendered Intelligence Festive Celebration
Mince Pies and Mulled Wine
We would like to invite all trans and queer young people, as well as all friends, colleagues and family members, as well as any other people we have worked with to our end of year festivities
6th December - 5.30 - 8pm
This is a chance to tell people what we've been up to during 2008 at Gendered Intelligence as well as thanking people for taking part and making all the exciting things happen. If you would like to come it would be great if you could pop me an e-mail so that we can have an idea of numbers.
We will also be showing the:
"Gender Variance in Primary School" DVD
which is part of the No Outsiders Project looking at creating LGBT affirmative spaces in primary schools. Any young trans person who was involved in the workshop back in February this year is entitled to a travel bursary. DVDs will not be released, so this is a good chance to see the finished version. Please pop an e mail requesting a bursary.
